Roll-in stretcher trolley, adjustable heights
The importance of a patient's calm and positive psychological attitude is recognised as one of the key factors for good results for the rescue and transport. Consequently the stretcher must, where possible, lose its mechanical connotations and become a close and helpful object, more of a partner rather than a hostile device employed by the necessity of the moment or infirmity. The Spencer team, manufacturers of rescue and patient transport devices, has dedicated special attention to the relationship between the patient and the stretcher, the patient and the operator and the operator and the stretcher. Everything in order to realise an ergonomically viable product even in uncomfortable physical, psychological and environmental conditions, achieving success even in the most intense operative situations. Cross' secret lies in the Space Frame concept, which through the welding of special tube, made of stainless steel and aluminium, produces a truly innovative structure, not only in shape and functionality, but also and above all in the intrinsic technological contents and in the research of space usually unused. We have also tried to give these stretchers an aesthetic and distinctive look.
The possibility to have a vast choice of colours increases the possibility of linking/combination, to which special customisations can be added for adequate quantities. The Cross stretcher is supplied with two straps model STX 702.

Adjustable heights
This mechanism permits the adaptation of the stretcher to the needs of the rescue operation. In order to make getting on and off easier in the case of walking patients or for the elderly, it is sufficient to put the Cross into the inclined position. When transferring the patient there is the possibility to adjust the stretcher into an intermediate height, modifying at the same time the inclination of the posterior legs, therefore ensuring that the operators do not strain any muscles in transferring the patient from the bed to the stretcher or vice versa.
Loading levels
The variation of the height of the trolley in relation to the different loading levels of the ambulance is possible thanks to:
- a loading trolley with six different heights, extremely easy to adjust without requiring specialised technicians
- a patented system of geometrically variable runners, that guarantee an optimum sliding angle during loading and also maintaining level once the ambulance
The Cross adapts to all loading levels, allowing use with all vehicles.
Patient Zone
In areas where the patient assistance becomes critical both in therapeutic terms and in transfer terms, the frame has been modelled to consent more comfortable and effective operations.
Shortening
If necessary the Cross can be shortened to guarantee good manageability in limited spaces or small lifts. The trolley system at the front can rotate upwards (automatic blocking system), acting hence as a bumper to protect the patient from bumps when the stretcher hits a wall, or moves downwards.
Back saving
Each time the stretcher is put into the ambulance or on the ground the wheels rest in a space in the frame, thanks to an elementary mechanism: another way of avoiding strain.
Stability
An excellent distribution of the weight, guaranteed by an advanced geometry and welded chassis, which gives the Cross absolute stability.
The colours of the Cross

That is why we conceived the polychromatisation of an indispensable instrument such as the stretcher, because rescue operators are not only technicians and professionals, but also people who are aware of what is around them. In one word, colour is synonym of aggregation, of recognition of signs and clothing. Why, therefore, should we not also mark with a sign the other instruments used in the world of rescue, where groups are numerous and colours important? Well, with colour Spencer has managed to create an instrument that is not only avant-garde, but also recognisable and personalized with its own chromatic signature. We have overcome every technical, functional and structural problem to create the Cross which is one of a kind and new in its invention. We also confronted an aspect that has been, to date, somewhat neglected: the problem of identification, personality and individuality of the stretcher; only colours can contribute to a solution. The range of colours allows for 56 variations which reflect the intense and deep personality of the Cross, adding to an already established individuality. The variable trim runners, the bumpers in expansive polyurethane and the joints are all black and create a harmonious synergy with the paintwork of the frame.
Eight colours for the frame, the loading trolley, the anterior and posterior legs result in full polychromatisation of the Cross.
The patient board with seven different shades of colour, also reflects the concept of polychromatics introduced with the Cross. Obtained thanks to the colouring during the fusion process that is a new and absolutely amazing idea.

The dynamic and professional character of the new Cross can be completed with optionals, the retractable drip carrier, the standing brake and the super protected tank carrier. All of this is possible on one stretcher for those who want everything.
Tanker Cot
Careened tank carrier
This incredible tank carrier cannot be equalled for its compactness, lightness, protection and safety. It is made in high density polyethylene and is distinguished by the inserts and rings in rubber. The look of the Tanker Cot reflects the way in which it protects the tank and the pressure reducer. The fastening mechanism, also available in the 10 G version, allows for a rapid extraction and simple insertion. The innovative design favours functionality and respects space thus reducing obstruction. The first thing that one notices when the Tanker Cot is placed on the stretcher is quite simply that one does not notice it at all! Maybe you have just bought the tank carrier, but it is easy to forget it.

Track 1/2/3
Retractable drip pole
This innovative system allows for the drip pole to be placed underneath the stretcher and therefore out of the usual working zone. With a simple operation the system can be extracted and then the exact height required for the telescopic pole, can be selected by simply rotating the tube fixing metal rings. The distal parts of the pole have two retractable hooks in glass loaded nylon.

Anterior parking brakes
To make the loading operation safer still, when the stretcher is closed on the ground, the brakes for blocking the anterior wheel block of the loading trolley can be inserted and disconnected quickly. The kinematic mechanism also allows for the indication of the position of the brakes.
